Localization (l10n) of the application
The translation procedure has changed. There's now a single clamwin.po file per language (which is named LANGUAGE_STRING.po in the sources). In this section, we will keep track of the status of this translation.
The following table gives an overview of the file status referring to the current version of clamwin. If the .pot file changes, the new version will be added here, and someone will have to start translation.
Here's the procedure :
- Download the file from the locale directory
- Put your name in the "Locked by" colum (to avoid 2 persons editing the same file at the same time)
- Update the .po file with Poedit and the .iss file with a normal editor like Notepad (do choose an editor that supports UTF-8 please).
- Email it to Budtse and Mick. One of them will add the update to Subversion and clear the lock.
The Localization page contains some more details.
| Version | Who? | State | Comment | Locked by |
| 0.88.4/L10N-22 | case | done | ||
| 0.88.6/L10N-24 | hogi | done | ||
| 0.90.2/L10N-34 | since: 2007 July 6, 19:38, German time, GMT+1 mail send to: Budtse + Mick | Erkan Yilmaz |

Site Translation Todo
- banners <--- we need more (and they should be German specific)
- weblinks - we need more German ones, do last 3
- News items should be German (not taken from SF.net)
- RSS bugs (validation warnings) :
- Each item should contain a GUID.
- Your feed appears to be encoded as "utf-8", but your server is reporting
- "Dokumentation" links to a site, where you have to change language in a ComboBox. Changing language_id in the link won't help.
- Ever realiized that "Download" and "How can i help" is almost exactly the same page?
- "ISO-8859-1"
- line 17, column 41: title contains bad characters
- line 19, column 80: description contains bad characters (5 occurrences)
